Bio & Artist Statement

Kateri Gill lives and works in Jackson, Mississippi. She is an artist, art educator, and ministry leader. She is also a wife and mother of two boys.
Her work as a visual artist is inseparable from her community surroundings and gravitates towards the themes of suffering and restoration. She fuses deeply personal imagery with images of struggle and brokenness present in the neighborhoods where she has lived. Her mixed media work combines elements of drawing, collage, and low relief sculpture along with discarded/found materials.
